Compotite Corporation, pioneer of waterproofing, crack-isolation and sound-abatement solutions, has expanded its management team. Alan S. Hutchins, 40, has joined Compotite as vice-president of Business Development. He represents the fourth generation to be involved with the company since his greatgrandfather, G.A. Morthland, founded the company in 1938. Compotite has also hired Mark A. MacDonald, 42, to serve as vice-president of Sales for North America.
Hutchins brings diverse experience as a business management and marketing graduate from Cornell, winner of the Brenda Clucas Hecht Business award for outstanding leadership and planning in an entrepreneurial program. He also studied 4 years at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa before returning home to upstate NY to open his own health clinic which he has run for 12 years. He is on an extended sabbatical to become more involved in the everyday operations at Compotite Corporation.
Lakeland, Fla., native MacDonald graduated from Florida Southern College, majoring in business marketing. Mark is a single parent of two high school teenagers and a native of Lakeland, Florida. With a keen eye and passion for business and marketing, he has spent the last 14 years working with some of the top manufacturers in both tile and plumbing including Florida Tile, Marazzi and Tile Redi.
